Sufyan Qarni is a founder and chief operating officer of Sparq Natural Gas, LLC.
He brings eight years of professional engineering experience in fuel system design, commercialization, and vehicle operations, including key IP contributions on commercialized products for the largest US natural gas fueling design and engineering firm.
Sufyan served as a manager of Market Development for Chesapeake Energy (CHK) corporate development for projects involving natural gas solutions (LNG/CNG) for transportation, drilling & pressure pumping. He managed the CHK-GE CNG in a Box partnership and the CHK-3M partnership on CNG Type iVcomposite pressure vessels. Sufyan previously worked as Project Engineer for Agility Fuel Systems where he gained working knowledge of all facets of the NGV industry and associated equipment. He has managed $20+ Million OEM projects involving Gillig, Volvo, DTNA, among others; and designed LNG/CNG fuel (Dedicated, Bi-fuel & Dual/HPDI) systems for Class 7-8 vehicles as well as off road vehicles. In addition, Sufyan has developed intellectual property including Fuel Management Modules, Control Units and efficient high-pressure storage vessels for Class 8 heavy-duty industry.
Sufyan began his career as a mechanical engineer for Mechanical Engineering Solutions in California. Sufyan earned an MS in Mechanical Engineering with concentration in Design & Manufacturing from California State University, Long Beach. He has speaking, writing, and reading proficiency in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi.
